Pets On Ferries
Pets are never allowed above the car deck on any ferry in Alaska or Canada, but are perfectly all right in your rig on the car deck. You will be able to visit your pet periodically on the longer ferry crossings. Pets are walked in an assigned area on the car deck.

Insurance For Canada
Proof of liability insurance is required in Canada.

Quebec's insurance act bars lawsuits for bodily injury from an automobile accident, so the traveler to Quebec should discuss coverage with an insurance agent. Additional short-term coverage such as a trip accident policy is recommended. Questions to. Canada Insurance Bureau, 181 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, Canada M5H 3M7, telephone (416) 362-2031.

Firearms In Canada
Pistols are restricted. Fully automatic weapons and firearms less than 65 centimeters long or designed to be fired when reduced to that length are prohibited. To carry handguns temporarily, participants in bona fide marksmanship competitions should apply to the Registrar of Firearms at the port of entry. Most sporting rifles and shotguns can be admitted without a permit if the visitor is 16 years of age or older. A description of such equipment and serial numbers must be submitted to Canadian customs. Participants in competition events may bring in, duty free, 1,000 rounds of ammunition; hunters, 200 rounds.

Citizens band radios or walkie-talkies of 100 milliwatts or less, operating on the 26.97-27.27 megacycle band are not restricted. Other types of mobile units may be operated in Canada only by special permit. The possession and use of any radar detection devices in Canada is illegal.
